Summer Camp at Kandersteg International Scout Center, Switzerland
This week long camp was held at the International Scout Center in Kandersteg, Switzerland. Along with experiencing international scouting, the scouts also got to earn merit badges and enjoyed some high adventure activities.
The theme was
SPACE and the camp was called Camp Alpine: STARQUEST.
We went on a great hike on Wednesday of our summer camp! The trail we followed on the Gasterntal Hike was the yellow diamond all the way down into Kandersteg.
The SPL, ASPL, and PLs also got a leadership merit badge for being great leaders and fulfilling requirements, the troop earned the Honor Unit Award and the Clean Campsite Award!
One of our scouts performed a yoyo trick in front of all the troops and earned a yoyo holster. Another one won the rock-paper-scissor contest and earned a Nerf rocket.
There was also a flag retiring ceremony where we retired an old American flag.
The international campfire was really fun too! There were Danish, Irish, Spanish, British, American, Norwegian, Belgian, and Italian scouts there! (Plus all the Pinkie nationalities)
